The Planetarium shows the Sun and the planets revolving around it inside two 9 m (29.5 ft) wide rings.
Thanks to a series of rails and cogs, planetary motion is very accurately reproduced. A mechanical shield bearing a coat of arms is attached to one of the exterior rings and indicates the date and the day of the week. The piece de resistance: a two dials clock (one going clockwise and the other counterclockwise) displays solar time, standard time, day length and lunar phases.
