At the heart of Alsace, just twenty kilometres or so from Strasbourg, the Molsheim-Mutzig Region welcomes you to the foothills of the Vosges mountains and the gateway to the Bruche valley.
A kaleidoscope of landscapes...
Every season offers a touch of magic with the vineyards along the Wine Route, the backdrop of the Vosges mountains and the vast agricultural plain carpeted with fields of asparagus and, of course, cabbages for the famous sauerkraut.
A rich historical and...
You can explore the vestiges of magnificent fortifications
from Mediaeval times at the gateway to Dachstein, Molsheim
and Mutzig. The Fort
Kaiser Wilhelm II, Mutzig Fort and the
Sentier des Casemates (Blockhouse Trail), are a testimony
to the German occupation of Alsace and were strategic places
of defence.
... religious heritage
With its Merovingian foundations, the Dompeter
(Church) is the oldest church in Alsace. The Jesuit
church was, for a time, the centre of the Counter Reformation
movement in Alsace and today houses a Silbermann organ. In
Molsheim, the Carthusian Order built one of the few monasteries

Saint Cyriaque (Saint Cyriac Abbey) harmoniously combines
Romanesque and Baroque styles and houses some precious relics...
The Home of Thoroughbreds : Bugatti...
Ettore Bugatti completely fell under the charm of the region
and turned Molsheim into a historical stronghold of automobile
and railcar construction. In his memory, the Musée
de la Chartreuse (Charterhouse Museum) has devoted
part of the priory to the Bugatti Foundation. Each year in
September, hundreds of enthusiasts and thousands of spectators
flock to Molsheim for the Bugatti
Festival, and a weekend spent admiring these mechanical prodigies from around the world.
