The current crib, the work of Molsheim sculptor Raymond Keller, has been on display in the church since Christmas 1985. It has been completed over the years based on a commission from the parish's Marian congregation of men. The statues are carved from limewood, and the structures from fir. The crib features the Holy Family, a shepherd with a donkey, an ox and some sheep. A couple of young shepherds bring their offerings, a king lays down the golden casket, a vase of frankincense and myrrh, while another shepherd seated on the edge of the table plays a flute tune.
Testimonials:
"Here neither paint nor fabric clothes, the figures - which are original models - are in rough wood."
"Beautiful inspiration from the artist who places a jug and a loaf of bread in the hands of a character: thus are linked the mystery of the Incarnation to that of the sacrifice on the Cross that the Eucharist has perpetuated."
