Stemming from the punk movement, Les Négresses Vertes have become one of the emblematic representatives of French music abroad. Born in Paris in 1987, the independent acoustic rock band owes as much to chanson réaliste as to Mediterranean music, crossing borders as early as their first album "Mlah" in 1988, entering the English charts with their remixes as early as 1989, 3 albums following "Famille Nombreuse" in 1991, "Zigzague" in 1995, "Trabendo" in 1999. The group continued to export internationally until 2001. The reformation of Les Négresses Vertes in 2018 is followed by a 350-date tour until December 2024.
