Forty years of excavations and research in the Molsheim region have shed new light on the first inhabitants of our territory, through the thousands of artefacts discovered at some 500 archaeological sites within a 15-kilometre radius.
The three main chronological periods (Prehistory, Protohistory and Roman times) are illustrated by characteristic objects. Visitors can see animal bones, carved and polished stone tools (for Prehistory), and bronze objects and jewelry from burials (for Protohistory). For the Roman period, sigillated ceramics and amphora remains testify to the region's economic exchanges with other areas of the Roman Empire.
