The "Château des Livres 2026" festival will be making its grand return to Mutzig, in the prestigious setting of the Château des Rohan. Organized as an unmissable rendezvous for lovers of literature, culture and artistic encounters, this event promises a weekend rich in discoveries, exchanges and entertainment for all ages. Visitors will be able to enjoy a varied program from 10am to 6pm, mixing literature, visual arts, radio, music, games and gastronomy.
The official launch of the festival will begin with the opening of the exhibition by Annabelle Amory, a collage painter renowned for her sensitive and poetic universe. Set up in the heart of the mediatheque, this exhibition will offer the public an artistic immersion from 10:30 a.m., and is the perfect way to open this new edition of the festival, which has been placed under the banner of creativity.
At midday, the festival will take on an original radio dimension with the arrival of RCB, the Valley's radio station, which will exceptionally relocate its studios to the Château des Rohan cinema stage. The "Paroles en direct" program, hosted by Bertrand Fiard, will bring together several local personalities from the world of books for a lively exchange on regional literature and culture. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to attend the recording of a real live program.
The afternoon will focus on young people and local literary creation. At 3:00 p.m., sixth-form students from Collège Louis Arbogast will present their short stories on the theme of "Going Green". This collective effort, led by their teacher Laure Clin, will be accompanied on the piano by Bertrand Fiard, adding a musical dimension to this public reading. The texts will also be illustrated by pupils from Mutzig's Rohan school and projected onto a giant screen, enhancing the value of a fine intergenerational and artistic project.
Youngsters won't be forgotten either. At 4:30 pm, families can enjoy the stories of "Tonton Michel" in the Square du Château. Creator of Editions MK67 and passionate about the art of kamishibai, he will offer a warm and interactive moment around storytelling and illustration.
Sunday will begin with a convivial and unifying event: a great dictation organized in the courtyard of the Château from 10:30 am. Open to all, with two age categories, this activity will enable participants to test their knowledge of spelling and grammar, while trying to win several prizes.
The afternoon will continue with a literary round table entitled "Se mettre au vert... dans la littérature", moderated by Serge Weber and featuring several guest authors.
Throughout the weekend, the association Rue des Jeux de Mutzig will make board games available in the Square du Château, guaranteeing moments of relaxation and sharing for young and old alike.
Finally, visitors will also be able to enjoy a gourmet offering thanks to the presence of foodtrucks Mamie Coco and Jeanne & Crêpes, offering simmered dishes and crêpes throughout the festival.
