The Exultate choir, based in Alsace, is a vocal ensemble that specializes in sacred polyphony from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The measured songs highlight multiple voices that call and respond or overlap, performed a cappella. What sets Exultate apart, however, is the addition of a clarinet in certain pieces, which brings its warm, velvety tone, particularly in the lower register of some works.
