Born in Philadelphia, the meeting of Fabien Enger and Shakoor Hakeem is that of two daring musicians, driven by a shared thirst for exploration and freedom. This chemistry has taken them to stages far and wide, from New York to Paris, and far beyond.
Joined by saxophonist Hugo Diaz, they form a trio with a unique musical language, where improvisation becomes a space for dialogue and constant creation.
Together, they offer a free, lively, and organic jazz, unbound by convention yet deeply rooted in the traditions from which it emerged. Their music draws as much from the blues, hard bop, and Afro-Cuban and diasporic legacies as it does from European currents of improvised music, giving rise to an authentic, generous, and resolutely contemporary expression.
